Detached homes are selling way more in these parts of Edmonton

If you’re thinking of buying a home in Edmonton, new data has revealed which parts of the city are seeing the highest number of detached homes being snatched up.
The latest report from the Realtors Association of Edmonton lists eight areas of Edmonton and the number of homes sold in those areas since October 2023.
Detached homes in areas near Anthony Henday Drive appear to be in the hottest demand, followed by neighbourhoods in North Central Edmonton.
The south end of YEG also appears to be popular among would-be homeowners, with the southeast and southwest areas of the city seeing plenty of sales activity.
Below is the number of detached homes sold in each area last month, as well as the median house price in these regions:
8. Central — 29 homes sold, $310,000 median house price
7. Northeast — 39 homes sold, $355,000 median house price
6. Northwest — 59 homes sold, $475,000 median house price
5. West — 89 homes sold, $515,000 median house price
4. Southwest — 123 homes sold, $588,500 median house price
3. Southeast — 160 homes sold, $469,000 median house price
2. North Central — 183 homes sold, $437,000 median house price
1. Anthony Henday — 244 homes sold, $576,021 median house price
The report also detailed that lower interest rates are adding pressure to Edmonton’s real estate market, with October sales seeing a surge compared to last year.
