Highly anticipated hot chicken restaurant is opening its first Edmonton spot this week
Earlier this year, Dave’s Hot Chicken confirmed it was gearing up to open its first Edmonton location. Now, the brand has finally revealed its opening date, which is way sooner than expected!
Dave’s Hot Chicken has teased the opening of its first YEG location, which will open at 10832 102nd Ave. NW. We now also have an official opening date, with the spot slated to open on Friday, March 21.
If this opening is anything like Chick-fil-A, we’re anticipating long lines ahead.
The spot, which started in an East Hollywood parking lot in 2017, is known for its crispy chicken tenders and sliders. Its chicken can also be customized to different heat levels, from zero spice to tear-inducing “Reaper” heat.

As an antidote to the severe spice levels, the restaurant also offers fries, kale slaw, and real ice cream milkshakes.
Dave’s Hot Chicken has been teasing its expansion across Canada for a while after opening its first Toronto location in early 2021. It now has several locations in Ontario, and its Canadian connection has been furthered by rapper Drake, who bought a stake in the company in 2021.
While Edmonton is the first Alberta location to open, Calgary won’t be far behind. Earlier this year, the company told Dished that three leases have been signed for Dave’s outposts in the city that will open later in the spring.
