New COVID-19 cases were discovered at 11 of Edmonton’s public schools in the last 24 hours, the district says.

Two new individuals tested positive for the virus at Avalon School and two additional cases were discovered at Lillian Osborne School.

Westminster School, Rio Terrace School, W.P. Wagner School, Thelma Chalifoux School, Tevie Miller School, Queen Elizabeth School, Mee-Yah-Noh School, Ross Sheppard School, and Dunluce School all saw one new case each.

Dozens of student and staff who were contacts of the infected individuals now need to self-isolate at home.

Across the city, 47 schools are currently dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks, including 14 that are on the province’s “watch” list for having outbreaks with five confirmed cases or more.
