Brick and Brew is Edmonton’s newest cafe after entering its soft opening phase this week.

This community-focused cafe comes to Edmonton’s downtown core to take over one of the oldest and most historic spots within the area, the Foote Residence. Here, the Edwardian-era building invites folks in to enjoy a modern cafe experience with quality coffee and delicious breakfast and lunch options.

According to Historic Places by Parks Canada, the Foote Residence is valued for its association with early Edmonton builder and architect Richard E. Foote. This house, built by him, was his residence in 1907, and then from 1911 until 1916.

Now, this spot is home to Brick and Brew, which captures the energy of the space perfectly.

In terms of the menu, you’ll be looking at classic cafe fare. Sandwiches, coffees, and lattes make up some of the dishes, but folks will have to check out the full menu in-person.

As for hours, you can check out this place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Mondays to Fridays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. It’s currently in its soft opening phase, and the team says to expect things to be fine-tuned and settled during this process.

Whether you’re just stopping by the Legislature Grounds or exploring the river valley, this new cafe will be a great stop to grab a drink and soak up the incredible atmosphere provided.

“Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be going through our soft opening phase as we settle in, fine-tune things, and get into our rhythm,” the team says on Instagram. “We can’t wait to welcome you in!”
