These are the best pumpkin patches to visit in the Edmonton area

As autumn starts to creep up, what’s more of a fall celebration than snagging a pumpkin and taking it home for decoration or to carve?

We’ve rounded up some easy-to-get-to pumpkin patches to hit up in the Edmonton area.

Somerset Pumpkin Farms

One of the best pumpkin patches around Edmonton, Somerset Pumpkin Farm offers nearly 50 different varieties to choose from this year, including minis, decorative, edible, and carving pumpkins. The farm says once it wraps up for the season, any remaining pumpkins will be sold to the Edmonton Corn Maze and Mama Shiela’s Farm Store.

When: Open from Saturday, Sept. 6, until the first frost of the season; check online for regularly updated hours.

The corn maze is a treat in itself, but the pumpkins at the Edmonton Corn Maze are huge and also make for the perfect fall Instagram opportunity. They are around starting in mid-September and last well into October, with an entire shed filled with them, so you can get that solid Instagram shot. Take one home, too, while you’re at it!

Prairie Gardens Pumpkin Patch

Prairie Gardens

Take a 40-minute drive north of Edmonton, and you’ll find yourself at Prairie Garden Farms. This nice one-acre pumpkin patch allows you to choose your own pumpkin and pluck it right off the vine.

Mill Tower Ranch

Mill Tower Ranch

Nestled in Ponoka County, this ranch features traditional orange pumpkins, as well as specialties like red, blue, pink, and white, along with some unusual pumpkins, such as warted and oddly shaped ones. Mill Tower Ranch’s Facebook page says thousands of pumpkin seeds were planted back in May, so there should be plenty to choose from this fall!
