The Edmonton Oilers are set to begin their postseason on Monday night, but demand for tickets doesn’t seem to be as high as you’d expect.
There is plenty of excitement in Edmonton, as fans are eager not just to get back to the Stanley Cup Final, but to win it all.
Game 1 versus the Anaheim Ducks is sold out, as the only tickets left up for grabs are resale. For Game 2 on Wednesday, however, it’s a much different story.

As you can see by the amount of blue, there are still plenty of standard tickets available for Game 2. The lowest price for these standard tickets is $307.75, while the most expensive are selling for a whopping $1,055.
One can’t help but wonder if the price of tickets is what is resulting in these slower-than-usual sales. It’s particularly interesting to see that resale tickets for Game 2 on Wednesday are actually cheaper, as there are some for as low as $218.80.

This could also be a case of Oilers fans remaining patient in hopes of seeing prices drop closer to game day. There were plenty of standard tickets available for Game 1 on Sunday, though none remain on Monday.
Very interesting and concerning to me that the Oilers would rather people not go to the games than just simply lower the prices so the building is full. Blue seats and unsold #Oilers @JasonGregor pic.twitter.com/iIEsflrOgn

Though Rogers Place will undoubtedly be full and rocking throughout the Oilers’ playoff run, these tickets aren’t selling at the rate most would expect for a hockey-crazed market like Edmonton.
Regardless of how the ticket situation plays out moving forward, the Oilers are solely focused on bringing Edmonton its first Stanley Cup since 1990. That goal is starting to feel more likely given that it sounds as though Leon Draisaitl and Jason Dickinson will both be in the lineup for Game 1 on Monday evening.
