Beloved Edmonton vintage shop closes its Wîhkwêntôwin location
A central Edmonton vintage shop has closed its doors after just over a year in business at The Oliver Exchange building.
Alexander & Rose has officially closed its storefront at the Wîhkwêntôwin shopping and community space, with the shop’s owner citing the challenges of operating a second-floor retail space.
The shop, which has been selling vintage wares since 2018, opened at The Oliver Exchange in June 2025, becoming known not only for its selection of vintage finds, but also for events like its High Society nights.
In an Instagram post announcing the closure, owner Zach said that while the shop had become a much-loved home for Alexander & Rose, the second-floor retail operation was ultimately not sustainable.
“Closing this store was an incredibly difficult and emotional decision, but ultimately, it was my only option,” he wrote.

Zach thanked the customers, vendors, friends, family, and neighbours who supported the shop during its time at The Oliver Exchange, saying the experience showed him just how much love there is for high-quality vintage in Edmonton.

But for Alexander & Rose fans, there is some good news: the business itself will continue.
According to the announcement, the team is already working on finding a new home for the vintage shop that better suits the business.
“We may have left The Oliver Exchange, but this is not the end of our story,” Zach wrote.
For now, it appears we’ll just have to wait and see where Alexander & Rose lands next.
