Alberta sending Personal Protective Equipment to non-medical facilities
Some of Alberta’s essential workers might not work in hospitals, but they’re putting their own health at risk by going to work every day, regardless.
That’s why the Province of Alberta has announced that it is sending personal protective equipment (PPE) to non-Alberta Health Services facilities as well during the COVID-19 pandemic in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.
A release from the province states that, as Alberta’s health-care workers have been connected to PPE through AHS, the Provincial Operators Centre is working to supply the equipment to facilities like optometrists offices, pharmacies, disability service providers, funeral homes, and social service groups, to name only a few.

The release also noted that Alberta’s Bits and Pieces Program has received around 4,000 offers of donations to date, 400 of which being offers of PPE.
