All across Alberta, participating restaurants are offering multi-course, fixed-price menus for this 10-day province-wide dine-around festival.

Alberta on the Plate is a province-wide celebration, dedicated to highlighting local restaurants and products across Alberta. From Aug. 8 to 17, participating restaurants in the festival offer a multi-course menu with a fixed price, focusing on local producers, growers, distillers,Ā and brewers.

As usual, this celebration coincides with Local Food Week within the province, and wraps up the same weekend as Open Farm Days.

This year, 14 restaurants within Edmonton and the surrounding area are participating in the festival.

Brew and Bloom is one of the restaurants participating. With two locations placed in the heart of downtown Edmonton and South Edmonton, this restaurant is filled to the brim with flowery decor. This bright and airy space brings people in with the blooming florals, but they stay for the delicious and playful menu.

Another Edmonton restaurant being featured is the vibrant Fu’s Repair Shop.

From the talented Chef Winnie Chen, Fu’s Repair Shop is a high-energy cocktail bar and eatery on Jasper Avenue.

There’s no question to say Fu’s is a spot to visit, as it won Best New Restaurant in its first year and Best Overall Restaurant this year within Edmonton. This Asian eatery promises food and drink with fresh ingredients and unique twists in a stylish, retro atmosphere.

Chef Scott Downey’s The Butternut Tree is another Edmonton favourite featured on the festival’s roster.

Born in 2017, this restaurant is an homage to Chef Downey’s years of discovery through places and flavours. In an upscale rustic setting, he has introduced Edmontonians to his interpretation of Canadian cuisine, consistently showcasing seasonal ingredients from Canada’s distinctive landscape.

The individual restaurant menus for the festival have not been released, but all restaurants for this year have been finalized.
