Alberta Energy Rebate applicants nearing two-week deadline for $100 payment
Albertans who applied for the Province’s $100 Alberta Energy Rebate on the first day applications opened are now approaching the slated 14-day payment window.
Alberta Energy Rebate applications opened on July 1, 2026. Alberta residents who are 18 or older, have filed a 2025 tax return, and have a household income of $225,000 or less, are eligible to apply for the Energy Rebate through a secure online portal.
In a statement to Daily Hive, Juliana Rodriguez, Treasury Board and Finance press secretary, said that more than 493,000 applications have been submitted.
On top of this, there are also 315,000 eligible Albertans enrolled in Alberta’s Seniors Benefit, Income Support, Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) and Alberta Disability Assistance Program that automatically qualify for the payment.
According to Rodriguez, that brings the total number of Albertans expected to receive the rebate to nearly 755,000.

The rebate has previously faced some technical challenges, with some Albertans reporting issues accessing the application portal and completing the payment verification process.
Rodriguez says payments are expected to arrive within about two weeks of applying. “Payments are delivered by e-transfer directly to Albertans’ bank accounts or by email within about 14 days of applying.”
For Albertans who applied when the portal first opened on July 1, that 14-day window falls on July 15.
Daily Hive asked the Province how many payments have been issued to Albertans so far, but the information was not provided by the time of publication.
