If you’re on the hunt for a new job, an Edmonton-based insurance provider just made the list of Canada’s Top 100 Employers.
Mediacorp released its 2026 ranking, and Alberta Blue Cross, headquartered in YEG, made the prestigious list.
It was the only Edmonton company to make the list this year, after appearing alongside PCL Construction last year.
Editors review employers on eight criteria: work environment, work atmosphere and communications, financial benefits and compensation, health and family-friendly benefits, vacation and personal time off, employee engagement and performance, training and skills development, and community involvement.

Alberta Blue Cross was selected for a variety of reasons, including its support of hybrid work and its monthly work and parking allowance that helps to offset the cost of working from home or commuting.
Along with retirement planning assistance, Mediacorp noted that Alberta Blue Cross offers employees a defined benefit pension plan.

The organization also hosts an annual Wellness Block Party and offers regular in-house wellness programming like stretch breaks, meditation, yoga, cardio classes and movement challenges.
Mediacorp gave an “A+” rating to the insurance provider’s training and skills development, and multiple “A” grades were given in areas like the work environment, financial benefits and compensation, and vacation and time-off policies.
In addition to being recognized on the 2025 and 2026 lists of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, Alberta Blue Cross has been regularly highlighted as one of Alberta’s Top Employers in Mediacorp’s provincial ranking.
Nine Calgary-based companies, including Canada Energy Regulator, Dentons Canada LLP, and Graham Construction, also made the cut this year.
So, there you have it! Detailed reasons for each selection can be found on Mediacorp’s website.
