If you’re looking for a TV show to watch, a new series with some pretty familiar Alberta backdrops just hit streaming.

The new TV program, Anna Pigeon, premiered on Aug. 7, 2026, and was filmed in Alberta between July and November 2025

According to the USA Network, the series was filmed in Alberta around Kananaskis Country, with the province standing in for the American wilderness where the series is set.

Even the trailer features some stunning Alberta scenery, giving viewers a glimpse at some of the landscapes that will appear throughout the series.

The series focuses on the titular character Anna Pigeon, played by Canadian actress Tracy Spiridakos, who is trying to flee her traumatic past by becoming a park ranger, only to find herself embroiled in a series of crimes committed in the vast American wilderness, according to the USA Network, which ordered the series from Cineflix Studios and December Films.

Anna Pigeon is set to air weekly on the streaming platform Crave in Canada and the USA Network in the U.S. You can also find the first episode of the series on Crave’s official YouTube account.

The show is based on The New York Times best-selling book series, Anna Pigeon, written by Nevada Barr over the past three decades. A total of 19 books have been penned by Barr for the series.

The series was directed by Lea Thompson, while Todd Berger, Julie Di Cresce, Brett Burlock, Peter Emerson, Sonia Hosko, and Gordon Gilbertson were executive producers.

Anna Pigeon is joining a growing list of shows and movies that have been filmed in Alberta. Last year, a movie titled Die My Love, starring Jennifer Lawernece and Robert Pattinson, hit the screens and was filmed just outside of Calgary
