32 new coronavirus cases in Alberta, active cases down to 865

A release from the Province of Alberta has supplied updated info on coronavirus cases in the province.

According to the release, there have been 32 new cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of known cases to 6,800.

However, of that total only 865 are still active, the majority of which are found in the Calgary zone.

There were two new deaths over the past 24 hours, bringing the total coronavirus-related deaths to 134 in Alberta, 100 of which being from continuing care facilities throughout the province.

Of Alberta’s 865 remaining active cases, 83 are in continuing care centres, while 621 residents have since recovered.

Total recoveries have reached 5,801 in Alberta, according to the release.

Alberta has 54 cases in hospital, six of whom are in intensive care units.
