WestJet just suspended more flights between Canada and the U.S.

WestJet has temporarily suspended more flights from Canada to the United States.
In the last two months, WestJet axed flights on two U.S. routes from Alberta and Vancouver. The airline’s list continues to grow as fewer Canadians travel down south.
“The downward shift in transborder travel demand has caused WestJet to further update its schedule to include nine temporary route suspensions to U.S. destinations for various portions of the summer,” a spokesperson told Daily Hive.
The decline may be due to the ongoing Canada-U.S. trade war, as many Canadians show their support for the country by refusing to travel south of the border. So much so that last month, Canadian travel to the U.S. dropped by nearly 900,000.
“WestJet continuously evaluates and adjusts its schedule to meet demand and remains committed to reviewing opportunities for direct service on these routes in the future,” stated the spokesperson.
