Grocery shopping is time-consuming, and Walmart Canada has teamed with BMO to make life just a little easier.

On Wednesday, Dec. 3, BMO announced that it’s working with Walmart Canada to offer some of its customers a very practical new perk: free same-day grocery deliveries. According to the release, the collaboration reflects the bank’s “commitment to helping Canadians make real financial progress by saving them time and money on their everyday needs.”

And with winter upon us, making it that much harder to go outside, it really couldn’t come at a better time. So, how does it work?

To qualify, you’ll need to be a new BMO client. You’ll need to open a BMO Performance or Premium Chequing Account and a Savings Amplifier Account. You’ll then receive up to 12 months of Walmart Canada’s subscription program, Delivery Pass, for free.

The subscription gives you unlimited free same-day delivery and discounted express delivery in just under two hours on Walmart’s website or app orders over $35, not including Marketplace items.

You’ll also get access to low in-store prices on over 65,000 products, including groceries, toys, clothing, and electronics.

But it’s not just the delivery subscription; new BMO clients also have the chance to earn cash.

You’ll earn $500 in cash if you open and fund a new BMO Performance or Premium Plan Chequing Account and open a Savings Amplifier Account by March 2, 2026. If you deposit $10,000 and maintain that balance for 120 days, you can earn an additional $150. Finally, you’ll earn $50 when you create one goal and one strategy in My Financial Progress Plan by April 30, 2026. That comes out to a total of $700 for new clients.

If that sounds like an incredible deal, you can learn more about it online.

Mathew Mehrotra, the group head of Canadian personal and business banking at BMO, said, “BMO is proud to team up with Walmart Canada to help more Canadians enjoy faster, easier access to groceries and household essentials at affordable prices.”
