Canadians who own a toaster oven may want to check if it’s part of an urgent nationwide recall.
Health Canada issued a recall notice on Thursday for Panasonic Flashxpress toaster ovens due to an electrical hazard.
“The power cord insulation may be insufficient due to a protective fiberglass sleeve not covering it adequately, which poses an electrical shock hazard to consumers,” reads the notice.
According to the agency, as of June 15, 2026, Panasonic has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. However, in the U.S., the company has received five reports of circuit breaker tripping incidents involving the U.S. model, but no reports of shock, fire, or injuries.
