For those looking for ways to rack up Aeroplan points, a partnership between Air Canada and World of Hyatt could help boost your rewards.

On Wednesday, Air Canada announced that Aeroplan has teamed up with World of Hyatt to offer members more ways to earn and redeem points. As a result of the new partnership, Aeroplan Elite Status Members and eligible Premium Credit Cardholders can access exclusive benefits and can fast-track their way to World of Hyatt Elite status.

World of Hyatt is the loyalty program for Hyatt Hotels Corporation, which includes more than 1,500 hotels and resorts worldwide. The program gives travellers the ability to rack up points when they stay in eligible Hyatt properties.

Travellers can now redeem Aeroplan points for World of Hyatt Free Night Awards starting at 25,000 points. And if you’re already a World of Hyatt member, you can redeem 30,000 points for an Aeroplan flight reward certificate that you can use for trips with Air Canada or its airline partners.

How does it work?

To unlock these new benefits, members must link their accounts for both rewards programs. Once linked, members can:

  • Earn 500 Aeroplan points per eligible Hyatt stay instead of earning World of Hyatt points
  • Earn additional Aeroplan and World of Hyatt Bonus Points on eligible stays, with rewards varying by credit card type
  • Enjoy the flexibility to convert World of Hyatt points to Aeroplan points at a 2:1 ratio, starting at 5,000 points
  • Convert Aeroplan points to World of Hyatt Points at a 2:1 ratio (available to linked Elite Status members), with conversions starting at 500 points (up to 100,000 points a day or 250,000 points a week)

“This collaboration creates more ways for members to earn, redeem and enjoy benefits across both programs, while unlocking more seamless travel journeys from start to finish,” said Laurie Blair, senior vice president of global marketing and loyalty at Hyatt.

For Canadians who already use both rewards programs, it’s a great way to maximize their rewards and unlock extra travel perks.
