Canadian fishery shocked to find lobsters went to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding

A Quebec fishery is learning just how influential Taylor Swift is after its lobsters made an appearance at her wedding.
Pêcheries LéoMar is based in the Magdalen Islands, a Canadian archipelago in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The fishery got its time in the spotlight after its boxes of frozen lobster meat were seen being hauled into Madison Square Garden last week for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding spectacular.
“What a source of pride to see the lobster from the Magdalen Islands shine on the international stage!” the fishery posted on Facebook on July 3, the day of the couple’s wedding. The post, originally written in French, includes photos of the Pêcheries LéoMar being carted into the wedding venue.
In an interview with the Montreal Gazette, the president of the fishery, Christian Vigneau, said that they only found out after the fact that their lobster had been delivered there.
“We had no idea our lobster was going to Taylor Swift’s wedding,” he told the Gazette.
Since then, Vigneau said Pêcheries Léomar has seen a spike in inquiries from existing and new customers.
“Asking where they can find our products, how everything works, the logistics, and all the rest of it,” he told the Gazette. Vigneau added that the company is already in discussions with several clients and that they expect those to lead to positive opportunities.
The fishery’s post on Facebook made sure to highlight the people behind their products.
“Whether our products are enjoyed here or elsewhere in the world, they primarily represent the exceptional work of an entire community,” reads the post.
“Behind every lobster, there is the expertise of our fishermen, the passion of our employees, and the commitment of all those who contribute to keeping this industry alive, an industry of which we are so proud.”
Pêcheries LéoMar operates two seafood processing plants on the Magdalen Islands. It offers seafood products including scallops, lobster and crab.
