How Canadians making a difference locally can win up to $10k in support

Know someone in your community who’s making a difference? It’s high time we put these unsung heroes in the spotlight!

That’s why Sunlight has launched the Sunlight Helping Canadians Shine Contest, a heartwarming initiative that’s all about celebrating the everyday heroes who spread kindness and inspire positive change in their communities. We are talking about the extraordinary individuals who brighten up their communities through their good deeds.

The contest gives Canadians the opportunity to nominate someone (or themselves) they think goes above and beyond to spread positivity locally for a chance to receive up to $10,000 in support.

Five winners will be chosen to win a Grand Prize, each valued at $10,000. Grand Prize winners will also have the opportunity to be part of a feature segment on The Morning Show, where they’ll have their charitable work highlighted on Global TV. As well as this, five runner-ups will be chosen to win the secondary prizes, each valued at $2,500.

Maybe it’s a neighbour who dedicates countless hours to volunteering, a friend who passionately donates gently used clothes to those in need, or a relative who coaches a kids’ soccer team. Really, it could be anyone at all that you think strives to make the world a better place.

To enter, all you need to do is head over to the contest website before October 15, and submit your nomination or entry.

Simply fill out the form, upload a photo and video, and share a few heartfelt words explaining why you or this person is a community champion. You must be a resident of Canada and of the majority age in your province or territory. You can find the full list of contest rules here.
