Flair Airlines named one of the most reliable in North America

Canadians who are tired of stressful flight delays and cancellations may want to consider flying with Flair Airlines for future trips.
The Alberta-based low-cost carrier announced on Tuesday that it was one of the top airlines in North America for reliability in April, boasting a 99.8 per cent completion factor and just four cancellations.
Flair took the first spot for flight completion across North America, WestJet followed closely behind at 98.6 per cent, and Air Canada and Porter tied for the third spot at 97.8 per cent.

“Completion rate is the most honest stat in aviation — either the plane flew, or it didn’t,” said Maciej Wilk, CEO of Flair, in a statement. “Why would you book with someone else if you’re 11 times more likely to get cancelled?”
Citing data from Cirium, Flair Airlines says its on-time performance record in Canada in April was 80.8 per cent, tying with Air Canada and landing just below Porter. WestJet topped the list with an on-time performance of 83.4 per cent.
The carrier said there was one standout day in April when every Flair Airlines flight arrived on time.

The airline also highlighted its On-Time Guarantee (OTG) program, which gives customers credit if their flight arrives late by 60 minutes or more. However, one air passenger rights expert says there are flaws in this program.
Besides its reliability, Flair Airlines also reminded customers of its commitment to low emissions.
“In April, Flair emitted only 92.15 grams of CO₂ per passenger mile, one of the best scores in global aviation,” reads a news release.
“We don’t believe Canadians should have to choose between affordable, reliable and sustainable,” Wilk added.
Of course, a quick search on social media shows that the airline still has room for improvement.
Some passengers are frustrated with the carrier’s “minuscule carry-on restrictions,” and others have had complaints against its customer service.
