According to Randstad, frontline healthcare has emerged as a key employment engine driven by aging populations and the lingering effects of the post-pandemic period.

“Demand for Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed/Registered Practical Nurses (LPN/RPN), dental assistants and pharmacy assistants remains strong,” reads the report.

Registered nurses earn the highest average salary on the list, at around $92,566 a year.

“These essential roles are resilient to economic cycles and are evolving toward more specialized care and expanded scopes of practice to help address ongoing pressures within the healthcare system,” reads the report.

When it comes to retail and sales, Randstad points out that store managers, sales associates and sales representatives are increasingly acting as brand ambassadors. They’re responsible for not only transactions but also customer engagement, loyalty, and long-term relationship building.

“Customer experience has become a key success factor and a critical growth lever in an increasingly competitive environment,” stated the recruiter.

While AI may be automating repetitive tasks, the report says “the value of administrative assistants, office administrators and receptionists now lies in problem-solving, digital fluency and their central role in human coordination and organizational culture, particularly in healthcare and educational institutions.”

Bookkeepers, accounting clerks, and technicians are still in high demand for businesses to maintain financial oversight, regulatory compliance, and healthy cash flow. The recruiter says there’s a growing demand for professionals who have both accounting expertise and proficiency in cloud-based tools.

Lastly, forklift operators play a key role in keeping supply chains moving efficiently, which is why they made the recruiter’s list.
