All eyes are on the prize as the Lotto Max jackpot continues to grow, and the recent draw was a lucky one for several lottery players across the country.

The Lotto Max draw took place on Tuesday, July 8, and it was a fascinating one as the jackpot reached $65 million. The winning numbers were 07, 08, 18, 27, 38, 48, 50, and bonus 05.

No one managed to score the top prize; however, three Canadians came close after matching six of the seven winning numbers and the bonus number. According to PlayNow, one lottery player in Western Canada and two Quebec residents will split the second prize, each receiving $80,404.40.

A total of 62 people matched six of the seven winning numbers to win the third prize, and each will receive $3,890.50.

There were eight Maxmillions prizes to be won, but only one Canadian won a $1-million prize after they matched the numbers 3, 6, 10, 23, 45, 47, and 50. The ticket was sold in Western Canada.

No one in B.C. won the Lotto Max Extra prize worth $500,000, and similarly, no one in Ontario won the $1-million Encore top prize.

The last time anyone won the jackpot was on June 3 when 15 employees from a car dealership in Trois-Rivières, Que., scored a Lotto Max jackpot worth $20 million. Group member Christian Dessureault  said that every time he purchased and distributed 15 shares of a Lotto Max ticket, he would hand them to his co-workers, saying, “Here’s your pension fund.”

Split among them, each received a cheque worth $1,333,333.

Hoping to try your luck again this time? The next Lotto Max jackpot is on Friday, July 11, and the jackpot is now at $70 million. There are also 10 Maxmillions prizes to be won.
