$70-million Lotto Max jackpot split between two lucky Canadians

Two Canadian Lotto Max players kicked off the weekend as brand-new multimillionaires after a massive jackpot win.

It’s been a while since anyone won the Lotto Max jackpot, and the prize had eventually climbed to $70 million. The draw took place on Friday, July 11, and the winning numbers were 04, 05, 10, 34, 36, 44, 50 and bonus 23.

According to PlayNow, two Canadians managed to match seven of the winning numbers to win the top prize. As a result, they’ll each receive their half of the winnings — a whopping $35 million each. The two tickets were sold in Quebec.

No one won the Lotto Max second prize worth $302,486.60, but 71 people will split the third prize, each receiving $4,260.40.

There were also 10 Maxmillions prizes to be won, and two people managed to match the same winning numbers 13, 22, 32, 41, 44, 45, and 48. The winners will split a Maxmillions prize and will receive $500,000 each. The tickets were sold in Vancouver, B.C., and Ontario.

In B.C., someone scored the Lotto Max Extra prize worth $500,000 after they matched the winning numbers 39, 47, 51, and 69. The ticket was sold in Kitimat. No one in Ontario won the $1-million Encore prize.

The last time anyone won the jackpot was on June 3 when 15 employees from a car dealership in Trois-Rivières, Que., scored a Lotto Max jackpot worth $20 million.

The next Lotto Max draw is set for Tuesday, July 15, and the prize is worth $19 million.

Although no one won the $20-million Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball prize, one Canadian is now $1 million richer after winning the White Ball prize. The draw that took place on Saturday, July 12, and the winner matched the number 21035885-01. The ticket was sold in Western Canada.

No one won the $5-million Classic Draw prize, but someone in Atlantic Canada did win the $178,650.40 second prize. After they matched five of the six winning numbers, 90 Canadians will split the third prize, each receiving $833.50.

There were 25 guaranteed prizes worth $20,000 to be won. Two were sold in B.C., seven in Western Canada, nine in Ontario, four in Quebec, and three in Atlantic Canada.

No one in B.C. won the $500,000 Classic Draw Extra prize, and no one in Ontario won the $1-million prize.

The last time someone won the jackpot was on Saturday, June 21, when someone from Ontario scored a $34-million prize.

The next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Wednesday, July 16, and the Gold Ball prize is worth $22 million.
