Lotto Max players across Canada no doubt have their eyes on the massive jackpot up for grabs.
The Lotto Max jackpot has reached the game’s maximum limit: a life-changing $80 million. The most recent draw took place on Tuesday, Dec. 16, and the winning numbers were 01, 06, 31, 35, 37, 45, and 49, with bonus 11. But no one will be taking home the jackpot.
Two lottery players came quite close, though. They managed to match six of the seven numbers and the bonus to score the second prize. Split between them, they’ll each receive $396,477.70. According to OLG and WCLC, the tickets were sold in Mississauga, Ont., and Calgary, Alta.
In addition, the 89 Canadians who won the third prize will walk away with a share worth $4,602.30.

There were also 22 Maxmillions prizes up for grabs, and three lottery players each managed to score a $1-million prize. One ticket was sold in Alberta, while the other two were sold in Ontario — one in Unionville, and the other on OLG.ca.
No one in B.C. won the Lotto Max Extra Prize worth $500,000, and similarly, no one scored the $1-million Encore prize in Ontario.
The last time someone won the jackpot was on Oct. 28, when a lottery player from Ontario won the $40-million jackpot. The ticket was sold in Grey County.
The next Lotto Max jackpot is on Friday, Dec. 19, and the jackpot is worth $80 million. There are also now 23 Maxmillions to be won.
