
It was a weekend to remember for several lottery players who woke up to life-changing news that they won huge prizes in the Lotto Max draw.
The draw took place on Friday, Aug. 15, and at the time, the jackpot was a massive $70 million. The Lotto Max winning numbers were 04, 09, 19, 21, 27, 41, 44, and bonus 11, but no one won the top prize or the second prize worth $293,326.60. According to PlayNow, 78 Canadian lottery players will split the third prize after they matched six of the seven numbers. Each will take home their share worth $3,760.60.
At the time of the draw, there were 10 Maxmillions prizes up for grabs, and four people won big. Two people in Western Canada won $1 million each after matching the winning numbers 8, 10, 13, 20, 34, 36, 40 and 8, 21, 22, 23, 27, 33, 36. In Ontario, one Maxmillions prize was split between two residents, each now $500,000 richer after they matched the exact winning numbers 10, 17, 19, 39, 42, 48, 49.
No one in B.C. won the $500,000 prize, and similarly, no one in Ontario won the $1 million Encore prize.
The next Lotto Max draw is on Tuesday, Aug. 19. The jackpot is now worth $75 million, and there are 12 Maxmillions prizes to be won.

The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Saturday, Aug. 16, and the Gold Ball prize was worth $40 million. Although no one won the top prize, someone did win the White Ball prize worth $1 million after they matched the winning number 45854507-01. The winning ticket was sold in Ontario.
No tickets matched the winning numbers 07, 18, 23, 35, 48, 49, and bonus 19, to win the Classic Draw prize worth $5 million. However, five people won the second prize after they matched five of the six numbers and the bonus number. One winning ticket was sold in Burnaby, B.C., one in Western Canada, and three in Ontario. After splitting the second prize, they’ll each receive $46,413.00. The third prize will be divided between 87 winners who’ll receive $1,120.10 each.
No one won the Classic Draw Extra prize worth $500,000 in B.C., but someone in Ontario did win the $1 million Encore prize.
The next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Wednesday, Aug. 20, and the Gold Ball prize is worth $42 million.
