Canadian Lotto Max winner instantly $50 million richer

The recent Lotto Max draw has turned one Canadian into an instant multimillionaire with a life-changing jackpot win.

The Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, Sept. 5, and the winning numbers were 4, 16, 20, 30, 34, 46, and 50, with bonus number 40. One lottery player managed to match all seven winning numbers, landing themselves a massive $50-million prize. According to PlayNow, the ticket was purchased in Quebec.

Other winners during Friday’s draw include two Ontario lottery players who matched six of the seven winning numbers and the bonus number to score the second prize. Split between them, each will receive $108,533.30.

Thirty-eight people across Canada will split the third prize after matching six of the seven winning numbers, each taking home a $5,712.30 prize.

At the time, there were two Maxmillions prizes up for grabs, and a winner from Richmond, B.C., scored a $1-million prize. The winning numbers were 5, 28, 29, 36, 41, 48, and 49. No one in B.C. won the $500,000 Lotto Max Extra prize, and similarly in Ontario, no one won the $1-million Encore prize.

The last time someone won the jackpot was on Tuesday, Aug. 19, when a winner from Kingston, Ont., won the $75-million prize.

The next Lotto Max draw is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 9, with a top prize of $11 million.

According to PlayNow, a lottery player in Ontario is $1 million richer after scoring the Lotto 6/49 White Ball prize during the draw that took place on Saturday, Sept. 6. At the time, the Gold Ball prize was worth $14 million.

The Classic draw winning numbers were 12, 25, 26, 38, 39, 41, and bonus 16, and one lottery player matched all six numbers to win the $5-million top prize. The ticket was sold in Western Canada.

The second prize will be split between two people, who’ll each receive their share worth $118,383.40. The winning tickets were purchased in Port Coquitlam, B.C., and Quebec. A total of 74 people will split the third prize, each taking home $1,343.50.

No one in B.C. won the Classic Draw Extra worth $500,000, or the $1-million Encore prize in Ontario.

The last time someone won the Lotto 6/49 prize was on Wednesday, Aug. 27, when Quebec resident Claude Boucher won the $46-million Gold Ball prize. The next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Wednesday, Sept. 10, and the Gold Ball prize is worth $16 million.
