Someone in Canada is heading into the weekend a brand-new millionaire after a successful lottery draw.
Wednesday night’s Lotto 6/49 draw featured a $40 million jackpot and the Gold Ball prize.
While the gold ball wasn’t drawn, a 16th white ball was chosen, blessing a Whitehorse lottery player with the $1 million prize. They matched the winning numbers 20668409-01.
The winning numbers for the Classic Draw prize were 19, 23, 37, 39, 41, 49, and bonus 29.
Unfortunately, no one won the $5 million top prize, but one lottery player from Quebec did nab the second prize. They matched five out of six numbers, plus the bonus, to take home $285,251.70.
The winning numbers for the Classic Draw Extra prize were 6, 18, 30, and 97. No one won the top prize of $500,000, but 45 Canadians are taking home a modest $1,000 after matching three out of four numbers.
If lady luck wasn’t on your side this time, you’ll have another chance in the next Lotto 6/49 draw on Saturday, December 7. The Gold Ball jackpot will be $42 million, with 14 balls left in the draw.
Saturday’s Gold Ball Jackpot is $42 MILLION or the Guaranteed $1 MILLION Prize, plus the Classic $5 MILLION Jackpot.

Remember to check your Lotto Max tickets. Two lucky Canadians are splitting the life-changing $80 million lottery jackpot, and there were plenty of Maxmillions winners.
The last time two winning tickets won the $80 million prize was during the September 17 draw, when Ontario couple Stephanie and Bryan Cantwell split the prize with Quebec resident Bernard Morissette.
Morissette, a retiree, said he intends to use his $40 million windfall to secure his children’s financial future. Similarly, the Cantwells said they plan to use their share to help family, friends, and the community.
The next Lotto Max draw is set for Friday, December 6, and the jackpot is worth $33 million.
