
A lucky Canadian just scored an impressive lottery prize, turning an ordinary weekend into a life-changing one.
Make sure to check your tickets, as the recent draw landed one lottery player a Lotto 6/49 prize. The draw took place on Saturday, April 11, and the Gold Ball prize was worth $26 million. Although no one won the top prize, someone did win the White Ball prize worth $1 million after they matched the numbers 40435398-02. The winning ticket was sold in Ontario.
No one won the $5-million Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw prize; however, another lottery player in Ontario did match five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number to win the $227,935.20 second prize.
A total of 78 people will split the third prize and will take home their share worth $1,227.10.
In B.C., no one won the $500,000 Classic Draw Extra, and similarly, no one in Ontario won the $1-million Encore prize.
The last time someone scored the Lotto 6/49 top prize was on March 11, when a winner from Ontario won the $44-million Gold Ball prize. The winner bought their lucky ticket online.
The next Lotto 6/49 draw is on Wednesday, April 15, and the jackpot is worth $28 million.

The Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, April 10, but no one won the $18-million jackpot. However, someone did match six of the seven winning numbers and the bonus, and they will soon take home the second prize worth $170,639.90.
No one in B.C. won the $500,000 Lotto Max Extra prize, and in Ontario, no one won the $1-million Encore prize.
The last time someone won the jackpot was on Tuesday, April 7, when someone from Penticton, B.C., won $75 million.
The next Lotto Max draw is on Tuesday, April 14, and the jackpot is worth $25 million, with 25 prizes worth $100,000.
Changes to Lotto Max kicked in on Friday, with ticket prices now up from $5 to $6 — the first increase since the game launched in 2009.
There are also additional prizes, and the jackpot limit is now at $90 million.
