An Ontario mom was woken up by the news of winning a hefty lottery prize.
Crysler resident Suzanne Cayer matched all seven Encore numbers in exact order in the Sept. 10, 2025, Lotto 6/49 draw to win $1 million.
The married mother of two and grandmother of three has been playing the lottery with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) for years.

“I really enjoy it. I play Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max with Encore,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect her winnings.
The 63-year-old said she was half asleep when she decided to check her lottery ticket.
“As soon as I saw the big win, I instantly became wide awake,” she laughed. “I was stunned! I changed my clothes and ran to the closest store to double-check my ticket.”
She became emotional when she found out she had become a millionaire.
“This is incredible,” Cayer continued. “When I found out I had won $1 million, tears ran down my face. I’m just so happy and grateful, and my family is thrilled for me.”
The mom has some big plans with her lottery windfall. She wants to help pay off her son’s mortgage and treat herself to something special.
“I can’t wait to go shopping,” she beamed. “I plan to live life and fully enjoy it!”
When asked what it’s like to win the lottery, Cayer said, “I’m on cloud nine. I feel like a million bucks!”
She bought the lucky ticket at Giant Tiger on Racine Street in Casselman.
Don’t forget to check your lottery numbers from the weekend — you could be a winner like Cayer.
