
A visit to the convenience store became a life-changing trip for a Canadian lottery player after he won the top prize of a scratch & win ticket
Leslie M. of Port Coquitlam, B.C., discovered he had won the top prize of the $1,000,000 Ultra just outside of the shop.
“I was in the parking lot of the store, and I scratched the ticket,” said Leslie of the moment he won.
“I was so bewildered, so I decided to put [the ticket] in the [self-scanner] inside the store.”

The scanner at the Family Milk on Coast Meridian Road in Port Coquitlam soon showed Leslie that he had won the top prize.
The B.C. lottery winner said that he was stunned by his good fortune and headed home immediately after validating the ticket.
Leslie also hadn’t yet shared the news of his win with anyone at the time of collecting his windfall.

“I’m still in shock,” he added. “Disbelief. I won’t believe it until I get to the bank.”
