“While I was in line to pay, I kept thinking there was something else I needed to do. Thatās when it hit me ā I needed to check my tickets,ā he recounted while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.
āWhen I saw the prize amount, I couldnāt contain my excitement and shouted, āI canāt believe it! I just won a million dollars!ā I was completely overcome with happiness,ā smiled Worotny.
Since it was late, he didn’t want to wake anyone up, so he called just a few of his friends and family, who were thrilled to hear this news.
āToday is my birthday, and Iām walking out of here with $1 million! This is by far the best birthday and retirement present I could have ever received,ā Worotny laughed. āI wish everyone could feel this joy!ā
With his lottery windfall, the retiree plans to pay some bills and is considering buying a home.
