Canadian can finally buy dream home after HUGE lottery win

A Quebec lottery player is one step closer to getting his dream home after a huge win.

Montérégie resident Gabriel Fredette won $1 million in the March 12 Lotto 6/49 draw with a ticket he bought on the Loto-Québec gaming website.

For the past few years, Fredette, who is in his thirties, has bought a lottery ticket every week online.

His consistency paid off. He was having a coffee while checking his emails the day after the draw when he saw one announcing that he’d won $1,000.

Fredette looked closer at the email and thought he saw $100,000. After checking for the third time, he realized that he had actually won $1 million. He quadruple-confirmed the win by logging into his account on the Loto-Québec website.

He immediately announced the amazing news to his wife, telling her their dream of buying a house could soon come true.

“Marie, I won $1 million! We’ll be able to buy the house we want!” he told her. The couple would love to buy a small farm to have some animals.

Fredette isn’t the only new millionaire from Montérégie. Resident Carole Chagnon won the $1 million top prize in the Feb. 26 Extra draw and is finally able to say goodbye to her boss and retire.

According to Loto Quebec, Chagnon always says yes to Extra when buying her lottery tickets.

One day, before going to work, she checked her ticket and thought she had won a $100,000 prize. She shared the amazing news with her husband, who asked her if she was sure since there was no $100,000 prize in the Extra draw.

Chagnon’s husband checked the ticket himself and realized that she hadn’t won $100,000 but actually $1 million. Besides her husband, Chagnon’s son and sister were the next to hear about her big lottery win.

Thanks to this windfall, she plans to retire earlier than expected and buy a new car.
