Canadian instantly $5 million richer after weekend lottery win

Although there weren’t any major jackpot winners, several Canadian lottery players still scored massive prizes.

The Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, March 21, and the winning numbers were 20, 26, 30, 32, 36, 40, 48, and bonus 50. No one will be taking home the $55 million jackpot, but two lottery players came quite close after they matched six of the seven winning numbers and the bonus number. According to PlayNow, the tickets were purchased in Pemberton, B.C. and Quebec. After splitting the second prize, each one will receive $109,850.30.

As for the third prize, 46 people will each receive $4,776.10.

There were also four Maxmillions prizes to be won, each worth $1 million; however, there were no winners during Friday’s draw.

Similarly, in B.C., no one won the Lotto Max Extra prize worth $500,000. However, in Ontario, someone won the $1 million Encore prize after they matched the winning number 2978558, according to OLG.

The next Lotto Max draw is set for Tuesday, March 25, and the prize is now worth $60 million. There are also six Maxmillions prizes up for grabs.

No one won the Gold Ball prize worth $34 million during the Lotto 6/49 draw on Saturday, March 22. However, someone in Western Canada won the $1 million White Ball prize after they matched the winning number 38126167-01.

Another lottery player won a life-changing prize after they matched the Lotto 6/49 Classic winning numbers 01, 03, 13, 16, 26, 32, and bonus 21, instantly becoming $5 million richer. The lucky ticket was sold in Quebec.

The second prize will be split between three people. One ticket was sold in Western Canada, and two were sold in Ontario. Each will receive $59,297.70.

The third prize will be split between 101 lottery players, each receiving $739.60.

There were also 25 Guaranteed $10,000 prizes to be won: two were sold in B.C., five were sold in Western Canada, 11 in Ontario, and seven in Quebec.

No one won the Classic Draw Extra prize worth $500,000 in B.C. or the $1 million Encore prize worth $1 million in Ontario.

The next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Wednesday, March 26, and the Gold Ball prize is worth $36 million.
