The father of two and grandfather was shocked when he hit a Royal Flush, winning the Poker Lotto jackpot.

“My hands flew up in the air as I yelled, ‘I won!’ I was so excited,” Curtis recounted while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “You should have seen the look on the store owner’s face. He was thrilled too!”

He says the joy he felt winning the lottery that day reminded him of another amazing moment in his life.

“Since that day, I’ve been the happiest man ever! I’ve been walking around with the biggest smile I’ve had since my wedding day,” Curtis said, wearing the same smile he described. “I tried to keep it a secret, only telling my wife, but I was just too excited and ended up telling everyone in town!”

The retiree says he’s at a loss for words to describe how he’s feeling.

“I feel amazing and pretty special. At this stage in my life, it’s a nice cushion to have. I hope to be back here at the OLG Prize Centre soon to collect another prize,” beamed Curtis.

The grandfather plans to spoil his kids and grandchildren with the lottery windfall.

“My wife and I would like to take a trip with our kids and grandkids. We’re thinking of either a resort in Mexico or Disneyland,” he concluded.

Curtis bought the winning lottery ticket at Delta Country Market on King Street in Delta.
