It’s not every day that you wake up a millionaire, but that’s exactly what happened to some Canadian lottery players this week.
The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Wednesday, Oct. 29, and the lucky lottery player will take home a sizeable prize. Although no one scored the Gold Ball jackpot worth $16 million, someone in B.C. is now $1 million richer after winning the White Ball prize. The ticket was sold on PlayNow.com.
However, that wasn’t even the evening’s biggest win.
The Lotto 6/49 Classic numbers were 2, 10, 27, 28, 35, and 45, with bonus 14, and someone managed to match the six winning numbers, scoring the $5 million prize. According to PlayNow, the ticket was sold in Quebec.

Two people managed to match five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number, thereby winning the Classic Draw second prize. Split between them, they’ll each receive $89,577.30. The winning tickets were sold in Atlantic Canada and Calgary, Alta.
A total of 58 people will split the third prize, with each one taking home their share worth $1,297.
There were no winners in B.C. for the $500,000 Lotto 6/49 Extra prize, and similarly in Ontario, no one won the $1-million Encore top prize.
The most recent Lotto 6/49 jackpot win was on Oct. 15, when someone from Alberta won the $36-million Gold Ball prize. The next Lotto 6/49 draw is on Saturday, Nov. 1, and the jackpot is now at $18 million.
