Canadian lottery player becomes $5 million richer overnight
One extremely lucky Canadian lottery player will be living the dream after scoring a multi-million-dollar win.
The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Wednesday, June 11, and the Gold Ball Prize was worth $28 million. No one won the jackpot, but someone did score the White Ball prize. The winner matched the numbers 45755236-01, instantly becoming $1 million richer. According to PlayNow, the ticket was purchased in Ontario.
The Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw winning numbers were 04, 09, 23, 28, 32, 39, and bonus 26. One lottery player managed to beat the odds and match all six winning numbers, winning the $5 million top prize. The ticket was sold in Ontario.
Another lottery player from Ontario will be taking home an impressive win after they matched five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number to win the $182,976.20 second prize. The third prize will be split among 80 people, each receiving $960.40.
No one in B.C. won the $500,000 Classic Draw Extra Prize, and similarly, no one in Ontario won the $1 million Encore prize.
The last time someone won the Lotto 6/49 draw was on May 7 when a Canadian won the $60 million jackpot. The next Lotto 6/49 draw is scheduled for Saturday, June 14, and the Gold Ball prize is now worth $30 million.

The winning numbers in the Lotto Max draw on Tuesday, June 10, were 05, 09, 20, 31, 37, 49, 50, and bonus 29. However, there were no big winners, and no one won the $15 million jackpot or the $138,007.60 second prize.
Twenty-six lottery players split the third prize, each receiving $5,308.00.
No one won the $500,000 Lotto Max Extra prize in B.C. or the $1 million Encore prize in Ontario.
A group of 15 co-workers from Quebec scored a $20 million win during the June 3 Lotto Max draw.
Group member and dealership manager Mathieu Ouellet said he was very proud that his whole team showed up on time, given the circumstances.
Veronique Leclerc recalled, “You could feel the excitement at work.”
The next Lotto Max draw is on Friday, June 13, and the jackpot is worth $20 million.
