If you’re looking for a memorable getaway, these Canadian hotels are worth adding to your list. According to Condé Nast Traveler readers, two hotels in Canada are among the best in the world.

The magazine released its 39th Annual Reader’s Choice Awards for the top-rated hotels globally, based on 798,867 votes from travellers who shared their favourite travel experiences.

Some of the top 50 favourites are destinations in New York City, Marrakech, and Hong Kong, but two Canadian properties also made the cut: a historic landmark in Quebec City and a luxury hotel in downtown Toronto.

Whether you’re planning a trip or staycation, these are the two Canadian hotels that travellers absolutely love.

The Fairmont Le Château Frontenac has long been a favourite, making it on the list for the ninth year in a row. And it’s easy to see why.

For starters, it’s instantly memorable; with the castle-like property perched above the vibrant Old Quebec, it oozes old-world charm. But despite the majestic setting steeped in history, travellers love that it’s luxurious without being “stuffy or buttoned up.”

“The Château Frontenac offers comprehensive hospitality that, while not white-glove, will provide travelers with everything they could possibly need for a comfortable stay in Quebec City,” states CN Traveler.

If you’re looking for something a little extra special, you can book the Fairmont Gold Experience, a more customized stay that gives you access to a private check-in, a private lounge, dedicated VIP concierge services, and complimentary food and drinks.

You simply can’t beat the location of the Shangri-La Toronto.

When you stay at the Shangri-La Toronto, the city’s financial and entertainment districts are just minutes away, so you really can’t get more downtown than that.
