Dollarama offering refunds after thousands of toys recalled across Canada

Dollarama shoppers can get a refund for a popular toy that’s part of a massive recall across Canada.

On Jan. 20, Dollarama issued a recall for thousands of baby toys sold at various locations, according to Health Canada. The recall affects Disney Baby Water Teethers.

“Under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, teether fillings must not contain any living microorganisms,” reads the statement. “Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that the liquid filling is contaminated with the fungus Rhinocladiella similis.”

The health department states that while the fungus is usually harmless, it could potentially cause an infection if the teether is punctured and the liquid filling is ingested.

As a result of the recall, the company is urging people to stop using the products immediately and to return them to a Dollarama store for a refund. You can also contact Dollarama by phone at 1 (888) 365-4266 or visit the company website.

A total of 15,289 units were sold between November 2023 and January 2026. The recalled Disney Baby Water Teethers were manufactured in China and feature the model number 3121188. They come in two variants — a teal Mickey Mouse and a pink Minnie Mouse — both featuring hollow octagonal shapes with textured segments.

As of Jan. 14, 2026, the company hasn’t received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. However, people are urged to report any health or safety incidents as a result of the affected item by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form. The recall has also been posted on the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Global Portal.
