Cineplex to screen 'Heated Rivalry' in select theatres across Canada next month
Forget the cottage, we’re coming to the cinema!
One of Canada’s biggest TV obsessions is getting the silver screen treatment, and fans will soon have the chance to binge all six episodes of Heated Rivalry in theatres.
Cineplex has announced that it will screen all six episodes of the groundbreaking, award-winning series beginning Nov. 6.
These special screenings are part of a wider international rollout organized by UK-based distributor Sphere Abacus, a Bell Media company, which has secured cinema screenings of the acclaimed Crave series across Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand.
In an email to Daily Hive, Cineplex confirmed that fans can watch all six episodes in one epic marathon on Nov. 8 for $24.99 plus tax. The marathon will be available at select theatres only.
If you can’t commit to a full day binge and just want to watch a few iconic episodes (like the steamy yet sweet Scott and Kip episode, for example), you can also catch the series in two-episode pairings on Nov. 6, 10, and 11. You can choose from the first two episodes, just episodes three and four, or the final two episodes for just $9.99 plus tax.
If you’ve somehow managed to avoid all the Heated Rivalry hoopla this past year and have no idea what we’re talking about, the show centres around rival hockey stars Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) as they embark on a complicated relationship off the ice.
The show was created by Montreal director Jacob Tierney (of Letterkenny fame) and is based on Halifax writer Rachel Reid’s bestselling Game Changers book series.
Dubbed “a smutty hit” by Rolling Stone magazine, the beloved series has inspired countless memes, parodies, fan edits, and even a musical. Meanwhile, Williams and Storrie have become bona fide breakout stars quickly approaching A-list status.
Participating Cineplex locations and showtimes are expected to be available by the end of the day Oct. 22 at Cineplex.com.

And there’s more good news for fans: Season 2 of Heated Rivalry is currently filming and is expected to premiere on Crave in spring 2027.
