Canada just got a festive, glow-in-the-dark coin way ahead of Christmas
Christmas may still be a few months away, but with fall right around the corner, Canada is already unwrapping a little holiday magic in the form of a limited-edition coin.
For those who like to check gifts off their list early, the Royal Canadian Mint has unveiled a festive new design that could be the perfect stocking stuffer for the coin collector in your life.Ā The “Dear Santa” silver coin features Father Christmas himself, and it’s a charming keepsake that captures the essence of the season.
The holiday-themed coin is made from 99.99 per cent pure silver and weighs 31.39 grams. The coin has a face value of $20 and is currently available for $144.95 on the Royal Canadian Mint’s website.

The reverse side of the coin offers a peek into life at the North Pole: Santa checking his mail with his loyal magical reindeer nearby. The scene is set against the backdrop of his home and famous workshop. The candy cane post displays a sign with the Canadian postal code for the North Pole: H0H 0H0.
The details on the coin are impressive, but it truly comes alive once the lights go out.
Turn off the lights and view the coin under a black light (included with every purchase), and the scene is transformed into an evening scene with a bright, full moon, glowing windows, and lit-up garlands.
