Canadian RBC Avion Rewards members just got more ways to earn points

If you shop at Canadian Tire and happen to be an RBC Avion Rewards member, there’s a new perk that might make your next shopping trip a little more rewarding.

Starting Tuesday, you’ll be able to rack up three times the Canadian Tire Money if you’re an eligible RBC credit and debit card holder. Both companies have partnered up to expand their respective loyalty programs: Triangle Rewards and Avion Rewards.

You can earn three times the points each time you shop for a qualifying purchase at Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC)-owned retailers, such as Canadian Tire, SportChek, Mark’s, and other participating retailers.

Members will also receive exclusive offers from both RBC and Avion Rewards. And that’s not all — later this year, RBC cardholders will be able to convert their Avion points to Canadian Tire Money.

“RBC and Canadian Tire Corporation have created a seamless experience that brings tangible everyday value to our millions of RBC cardholders when they shop at some of the country’s most popular and beloved brands,” said Vinita Savani, executive vice president of cards and loyalty at RBC.

So how does it work?

Shoppers can link their Triangle Rewards accounts by visiting the Avion Rewards website. Once your account is linked, scan your Triangle Rewards card at checkout when shopping at a CTC store. And when you pay with an RBC card, you’ll instantly earn three times the Canadian Tire money.

“This partnership supports our ongoing transformation of Triangle Rewards from a loyalty program into a powerful Canadian ecosystem that offers everyday value to our nearly 12 million members,” said Darryl Jenkins, executive vice president and chief development officer at Canadian Tire Corporation.

In addition to RBC, Triangle Rewards members can also earn points at Petro-Canada, WestJet, and Tim Hortons through the Triangle Mastercard program.
