A Canadian is now $1M richer after a big lottery win

One lucky Canadian is now $1 million richer after a big lottery win in Western Canada during the latest Lotto 6/49 draw.

The draw took place on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025. While the Gold Ball jackpot, sitting at $12 million, was not won, one lucky ticket matched the White Ball winning number 32739050-01, securing a prize worth $1 million.

According to Play Now and WCLC, the lottery ticket was sold in Western Canada, making the ticket holder an instant millionaire and the latest in a long line of lottery winners this year.

As for the Classic Draw, the winning numbers were 2, 8, 23, 28, 29, 36 and bonus 13. There was no jackpot winner for the $5 million prize, but two lucky tickets matched five numbers plus the bonus, each taking home $79,991.30, some of the higher payouts of the night. One of the tickets was sold in Western Canada, and the other was sold in Ontario.

72Seventy-twoickets matched five numbers for $933 each, 4,345 tickets matched four numbers for 62.20 each, and thousands of others took home smaller prizes ranging from $10 to $3.

The next Gold Ball jackpot will be increased to a whopping $14 million and will be drawn on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, giving players another chance at life-changing winnings in the coming week.
