Combining food and charity, YYC Taco Fiesta, a six day long festival celebrating tacos, makes its debut in Calgary this year, running from April 29 through to May 5.

Once the list of participating restaurants has been finalized, this taco-centric event should end up with over 35 eateries all slinging their versions of this handheld delight.

Currently, the restaurant lineup includes Joey’s Urban Fish & Chips, Joey’s Seafood, Blue Star Diner, Dairy Lane Cafe, Craft Beer Market, Anejo Restaurant, Blanco Cantina, The Mission, and Native Tongues. Even Tubby Dog is putting together a taco for the occasion.

Taco crafters will offer either a $4 to $6 taco or platters ranging in price from $12 to $18, with 15 per cent of taco sales going to selected charities. Recipient charities include Kids Up Front, Calgary Homeless Foundation, and Calgary Food Bank.
