Canadians know that residents of Fort McMurray, AB have had a rough year.
And they couldn’t have handled these tough times any better.
So it’s hard to not get a little dust in your eye when finding out that WestJet put on a ‘Snowflake Soiree’ for residents of the embattled town over the weekend. Which meant they invited families down for what residents have called a ‘magical’ holiday evening.
If you’re thinking, however, that this was a regular christmas-tree-and-holiday-lights kind of magic, you obviously haven’t been paying attention to WestJet’s history of making Christmas miracles happen.
Regardless, all you need to know is that at the end of the Snowflake Soiree, WesJet dropped hundreds of tiny parachutes from the sky onto the crowd of Fort MacMurray residents, and each one contained a free roundtrip ticket to any of the 150 locations worldwide that WestJet flies:
To its credit, WestJet hasn’t been the one promoting this incredible gift, and it could even be possible (we know, it’s hard to believe these days) that the Alberta-based company really did just want to give something special to those who’ve suffered so much in 2016.
Either way, this was one hell of a nice thing to do.
