This is the summer event you don’t want to miss.
With the weather finally starting to cooperate in Calgary, it’s time to start making some big, outdoor plans to make the most of your summer.

… Of course, no one out here is trying to break the bank either, which means that the upcoming movie in the park presented by The Underwood checks off all of our boxes for fun (and free) things to do.
On July 19, Calgarians will be able to cuddle up under the stars for an outdoor showing of Wes Anderson’s 2018 stop motion marvelĀ Isle of DogsĀ on the lawn of Central Memorial Park, hosted by the Beltline Neighbourhoods Association.
While the movie is free for all to watch, we’d bring a bit of cash to enjoy the various food trucks and full-blown beer garden that will be set up to quench movie-goers thirsts ā because is it really summer without enjoying a cold one as the sun goes down?
A live DJ will also be on scene to get the party started early, and it is recommended to bring your own blanket to act as an impromptu movie theatre seat.
The event will kick off at 4 pm, though the movie isn’t expected to screen until sunset ā so around 9:45 pm.
Now… where’s that popcorn?
