
If this isn’t the best example of how fickle Calgary weather can be, we don’t know what is.
This upcoming December weekend is relatively mild in comparison to some of the real freezes we’ve had in the past around this time of year, but it is also a lot more confusing.

According to The Weather Network, the next three days are expected to see sunny skies and above average temperatures… as well as a chance of up to 3 cm of snowfall.
The weekend kicks off on Friday with mainly sunny skies and a high of 3°C. The nighttime low will reach just -1°C, making way for a Saturday that sees a high of 4°C.
That Saturday sky will be dotted with a mix of sun and clouds and a cool night registering at 0°C.
Sunday’s the real question mark, as the Weather Network pegs it with a high of 6°C that feels like 3°C, though it also has a 40% chance of precipitation bringing 1 to 3 cm of snowfall.
Whether or not that dusting will stick around for the next five days to give Calgary a truly white Christmas is anyone’s guess, but with temperatures dropping in the coming week, we’d say there’s a pretty decent chance of it.
