Hundreds of high heel clad people are strutting through Calgary streets today
The annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event is taking place in Calgary today, with hundreds of men and women walking Calgary’s streets in high heels.
The fundraiser is aimed at breaking the cycle of family violence in Calgary, where more than 3,000 domestic violence calls were made in just the first three quarters of 2017, according to a release from the event’s website.

The fundraising goal is $250,000, with each registered participant having reached the minimum goal of individually raising at least $1,000.
While it is too late to start fundraising and register to be a part of the walk, Calgarians can still show their support by cheering on the participants and by donating to the cause through the YWCA website.
The walk will take place down Stephen Avenue starting at The Palace Theatre and will run from 11 am to 2 pm.
