USB wall chargers recalled due to shock, burn, and fire risk: Health Canada
Several USB wall chargers are being recalled after Health Canada found that they pose an “unacceptable risk” of electric shock, burn, or fire.
At this time, the following certified and uncertified products, which have been sold across the country, are being recalled:

There may be updates to the above table if further products are deemed unsafe.
If you have any of the above products in your home, Health Canada recommends you immediately stop using them and either return them to the retailer they were purchased at, or dispose of them according to your local, municipal electronic waste guidelines.
Further, Health Canada says that you should only use certified electrical products. This means that products conform to the applicable Canadian national safety standard.

Beyond seeking signs of certification, Health Canada says you can also search for indications that a product may be counterfeit.

Potential signs of counterfeiting, beyond not finding a certification mark, include poor quality (such as prongs appearing loose), unusually inexpensive price, or grammatical errors and unusual fonts on the product, labelling, or packaging.

The national health authority says that popular products and brands are more likely to have counterfeit versions, which may be dangerous.
