U2 to perform on Parliament Hill for Canada Day celebrations

Jun 24 2017, 2:19 am

U2 will be one of the performers headlining Canada Day celebrations in Parliament Hill.

The surprise (and surprising) announcement was made on Friday afternoon through Capital Experience’s official social media sites.

Bono and the gang will be joining other artists set to perform in Ottawa on July 1, including Walk off the Earth, Alessia Cara, and Dean Brody. Performances will begin at 11:30 am and there will be a massive fireworks show to end the day.

The Irish band is currently touring the 30th anniversary of their classic album Joshua Tree, with a string of sold-out shows across Canada.

Guess Nickleback wasn’t available? Just kidding, Canadian or not, we’ll take a U2 show anytime…
