We visited the famous burger spot that just arrived in Calgary

Everyone remembers their first burger experience, but there’s a new spot in Calgary that will make you fall in love with the iconic food all over again.

Born on the west coast, Triple O’s specializes in seriously craveable eats. We know this now because we can’t stop thinking about the Bacon Cheddar Burger we tried at the restaurant chain’s first-ever Calgary location.

The new, premium quick-service restaurant at Chevron On the RunDufferin Boulevard South-East, has both drive-thru and dine-in service, plus delivery with SkipTheDishes.

Triple O’s opened its first location in Vancouver in 1997, and today, it has 70 restaurants with locations in Canada and Asia. But what sets these spots apart from other eateries is their secret sauce (literally) and a passion for fresh, premium Canadian ingredients.

Picture a 100% fresh Canadian beef patty resting on vine-ripened tomatoes over a bed of crisp iceberg lettuce, layered with cheddar cheese and naturally smoked bacon, and finished with the Secret Triple “O” sauce (the ingredients of which are closely-guarded).

This satisfying handheld snack is topped with a pickle — which chefs at Triple O’s consider to be their seal of approval of a great-tasting burger, and we’re there for it.

Drool-worthy burgers are just one of the elements causing us to daydream about Triple O’s at work. The restaurant also serves up tasty fresh cut Kennebec fries, which fry up especially well. With each bite, the fresh, double-fried, perfectly-crispy-on-the-outside, and fluffy-on-the-inside fries taste even better.

Any Triple O’s fan will tell you that a trip to the restaurant isn’t complete without one of their signature milkshakes.

The hand-scooped treat is made with premium ice cream, giving it a smooth, creamy taste that you won’t find at other restaurants (and that pairs perfectly with their fresh, juicy burgers). Guests can choose between vanilla, strawberry, cookies and cream, and chocolate, depending on their craving.

Triple O’s is steeped in foodie history. The restaurant name itself came from the “OOO” abbreviation that was used by carhops back when drive-ins were hugely popular. Carhops would circle the words “hamburger,” “relish,” and “mayonnaise” when taking an order for the trademark burger.

Now, hungry Calgarians can get a taste of everything Triple O’s has to offer at its brand new restaurant. The location is open from 7 am to 9 pm Monday through Saturday and from 8 am to 9 pm on Sunday.

“I’ve been asked many times when we’d open a restaurant in Calgary,” said Triple O’s and White Spot president, Warren Erhart. “Well, the big day has come! This is an exciting time for our brand, as we bring ‘a taste like no other’ to even more Canadians in response to growing demand.”

To see what all the fuss is about and try one of Triple O’s famous burgers for yourself, stop by the new location at Dufferin Boulevard SE.
